Preparing your home for the fall

SMITHS GROVE, Ky. – As cooler weather fast approaches it is important to understand what in your home may need some work from your HVAC to sealing windows and doors.

Though the HVAC is typically one of the more expensive parts of a home in terms of unit cost and energy cost, proper insulation can go a long way in saving money throughout the year says home inspector Matt Holland of Holland Home Inspections.

“It’s always better to do a preventative maintenance program to get ahead of any problems prior to that cold season hit and then you’re without heat. The other part of it is, is the efficiency of how that unit runs,” Holland said.
