Police: Child accidentally stabbed by sibling

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A 3-year-old child was flown to an area trauma center Sunday after an accidental stabbing.

At 11:15 Sunday morning, police were called to an apartment on North Lee Street for a stabbing.

According to Bowling Green police report, a 7-year-old boy was carrying a knife back to the kitchen when his 3-year-old brother ran up to him to give him a hug.

During the attempted hug, the younger brother ran into the knife in the older brother’s hand and was wounded with a deep gash to his stomach.

Police have not released the 3-year-old’s condition at this time.

At this point in the investigation, police are not charging anyone with any crimes.
