Play and Learn Village inclusive playground coming to Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Parks and Recreations has received a grant from PNC Bank through the United Way to build a Play and Learn Village for children age five and under at Roland Bland Park.

The funds will go toward an a project already in the works, a special needs inclusive playground with crumb rubber flooring.

This Play and Learn Village will be a part of the same playground to create an exciting and stimulating area for young children in the area.

The playground will feature a colorful series of musical instruments surrounded by child friendly and interactive playhouses including a bank, firehouse, music shop and a farmers market.

The inclusive playscape also includes park benches for parents and huge and colorful flowers which will tower over the Village.

Brent Belcher, the director of the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation said the project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
