Pickleball Palooza returns for Duncan Hines Days

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – As Duncan Hines Days continues across Bowling Green, one of the festival’s most popular events returned to the courts.

Pickleball Palooza was back this year, drawing both experienced players and first-timers to the courts for a day of friendly competition and fun.

With beautiful weather and full courts, participants had the chance to test their skills and learn more about one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

Organizers say pickleball’s popularity continues to grow across South Central Kentucky, and events like this help bring the community together. They add that the people who show up year after year are what make Duncan Hines days so special.

“It’s the community, man. The people who play pickleball are some of the nicest you’re likely to meet. They’re so friendly. They’ll teach you along the way. Every little step. Super fun. And you’re outdoors. Breathe in fresh air in a beautiful day in Bowling Green,” said Ryan Pattee, a coordinator with the Warren County Parks and Recreation.

Prizes were offered to winners of a drawing, as well as free Duncan Hines cake mixes, and even pickles, thanks to Houchens. Of course, there is still plenty of events going on the rest of the week.
