Former Adairville city employee accused of stealing city funds

ADAIRVILLE, Ky. – A former Adairville city employee is accused of stealing city funds.

According to a release from the Adairville Police Department, officers were notified of an alleged theft incident at Adairville City Hall on Friday. The alleged theft involved approximately $454 in city funds.

During the investigation, authorities identified 61-year-old Kimberly Fowler as the suspect. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Fowler on charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition from a building and second-degree official misconduct.

According to the City of Adairville’s website, Fowler was employed as the assistant city clerk.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. Officials say they could file additional charges depending on the investigation’s results.

According to the release, Adairville mayor Donna Blake contacted the Kentucky League of Cities to conduct a forensic audit on the city’s finances.
