Juvenile identified after allegedly sending threatening messages to Allen Co. students

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – Authorities say a juvenile has been identified as the individual allegedly behind threatening messages recently sent to Allen County students.
According to the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force, the juvenile was responsible for a TikTok account involved in the investigation.
Authorities say the juvenile’s parents have cooperated with the investigation, and the matter “is being handled accordingly.”
Due to this case involving a juvenile, an identity will not be released.

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – The Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force says it continues to investigate ongoing threatening messages being sent to area students.
According to an update on Saturday by the agency, multiple students in Allen County are continuing to receive these messages through Snapchat and other social media.
Authorities say the individual sending the messages identifies themselves as “Cat in the Hat.” Detectives say some of the messages include AI-generated images.
Detectives say they are treating the case seriously and are actively working to identify the person responsible.
According to the task force, legal requests are underway to social media companies, however, an answer from them is pending.
Authorities say they will continue pursuing every legal action available.
If you or your child received any message, image, friend request or other communication connected to this individual, the task force asks to not delete it and to instead take a screenshot. Tips should be sent to the task force page, or they can be submitted by calling 270-237-3611.
The task force further stated, “Hiding behind a fake profile does not make you anonymous. Every message you send creates more evidence. You may be exposing yourself to serious criminal charges, including potential felonies. Stop now, and come forward voluntarily. Otherwise, understand this: we will continue working to identify you.”
