1 flown after fiery crash in Allen County, ambulance involved

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – One person was flown for treatment following a fiery crash in Allen County on Tuesday, authorities say.

Trooper Katan Parker, public affairs officer for Kentucky State Police Post Three, confirmed later that day that an ambulance had been involved in the initial collision. Details surrounding how the collision occurred have not yet been released.

Parker says the crash took place Tuesday morning at New Glasgow Road and Smiths Grove Road, resulting in a vehicle catching on fire.

In a social media post, the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force stated the following:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends at Allen County EMS, the patient, and everyone affected by today’s serious crash. We are incredibly thankful for the men and women of EMS who dedicate their lives to helping others, often on their most difficult days. We appreciate all you do for our community and are praying for strength and a full recovery for everyone involved.”

According to Kentucky State Police Post Three Public Affairs Officer Trooper Katan Parker, the crash occurred Tuesday morning at New Glasgow Road and Smiths Grove Road.

Parker says a vehicle caught on fire, and one person is expected to be flown for medical care.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office says traffic is currently stopped due to accident reconstruction. Drivers should use an alternate route at this time.
