Pedestrian dies after allegedly being hit by truck in Henderson

HENDERSON, Ky. – A pedestrian has died after allegedly being hit by a vehicle driven by a teen in Henderson.

According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers responded for a vehicle versus pedestrian fatal collision that occurred Tuesday night in the 300 block of Green Street in Henderson.

Authorities say they were notified of the crash around 11:30 p.m. Troopers responded to conduct an investigation and provide accident reconstruction.

According to troopers, a preliminary investigation found a Ford F-150 driven by a 17-year-old male from Henderson was traveling eastbound on Green Street when 66-year-old Lamont Henderson of Henderson was crossing the street.

Authorities say Henderson was walking toward Clay Street when he entered into the travel path of the truck.

Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say the teen was not injured.

The Kentucky State Police says the investigation is still in its early stages, and evidence is being processed.
