Pedestrian arrested after fleeing from police on I-65 in Park City
PARK CITY, Ky.- A 21-year-old man is behind bars in Barren County after he was approached by law enforcement while walking on I-65 in Park City.
According to Kentucky State Police, Marcelo Martinz was walking on I-65 near the Park City exit (mile marker 47) around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police said when a state trooper approached Martinz, he became combative toward the law enforcement agent, at which time, the trooper attempted to place Martinz under arrest.
Police said Martinz fled into a wooded area on foot near the interstate.
After a multi-agency search, Martinz was located by the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office behind a residence on Louisville Road.
Martinz was charged with resisting arrest, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police and stop, stand, park on a limited access highway.
Martinz was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
