NWS Jackson reports issues with warning alerts amid expected severe weather

HAZARD, JACKSON, PIKEVILLE, WHITESBURG, Ky. – The National Weather Service Jackson, Kentucky says it is having issues with warnings being sent out to residents in Hazard, Jackson, Pikeville and Whitesburg on Tuesday.

The NWS Jackson says severe weather is expected to hit these areas Tuesday evening.

At 5:05 p.m., the NWS Jackson advised residents of these areas to seek shelter.

As of now, the NWS Jackson says its neighboring office is taking over issuing warnings.
