Norton Children’s NICU babies dress up for first Halloween

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Some of Kentucky’s youngest and tiniest patients are getting in the Halloween spirit by showing off their first costumes.

Norton Women’s & Children’s says dressing up their neonatal intensive care unit babies patients give parents and families a chance to celebrate their babies: a welcome break from hospital routines.

These adorable Halloween costumes are provided by families or the NICU, and some are made by hospital staff and volunteers.

NICU NWC Nurse Manager Leigh Wirth said, “It’s really exciting. It’s a fun event that we can pull the staff together in, on the babies, the families, even we have some siblings that come as well. It’s really nice family-centered event that we can offer. We really enjoy putting it on!”
