Name of victim released after reported shooting in Ohio County

HORSE BRANCH, Ky. – The identity has been released of a victim of an Ohio County shooting that occurred Monday.
According to the Ohio County Coroner’s Office, an autopsy was performed Tuesday morning in Louisville at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Darin Ray Rice of Horse Branch, authorities say.
No other information is being released at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing.

HORSE BRANCH, Ky. – A man is charged with murder after a reported shooting incident in Ohio County.
According to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 15000 block of U.S. Highway 62 East near Horse Branch at 3 am Monday.
Deputies located a deceased male at the scene.
During the investigation, OCSO identified 35-year-old Jesse Baize of Beaver Dam as a suspect.
Baize was arrested and charged with murder, failure of a person to report the death of a person, criminal trespassing and tampering with physical evidence, according to OCSO.
OCSO is currently searching a nearby lake for additional evidence.
The investigation is ongoing.
