Mitch McConnell visits small business in Warren County

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell visited Warren County this afternoon, witnessing the results of the CARES Act first hand.

McConnell visited Taz Trucking, a small business in Bowling Green that was able to take advantage of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

McConnell stated that the CARES Act has delivered more than $62.4 million to Warren County.

McConnell said that businesses don’t have to pay back the loan if they followed the criteria, which included using a certain percentage of the funds for payroll.

Senator McConnell told us how many small businesses in Kentucky were helped out by the program.

“To take a look at that just from the Kentucky perspective, over 50,000 businesses like Taz Trucking accessed $5.2 billion in PPP small business loan,” said McConnell.

McConnell emphasized how the PPP loan was to help small businesses like Taz Trucking get through the tough times during the Coronavirus pandemic.
