Police: Meth lab busted by drug task force in Scottsville

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – At 7:30 a.m. Thursday, the Barren River Drug Task Force along with Scottsville Police Department and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department went to 518 E. Poplar Street in Scottsville in reference to a drug investigation and active warrants.
Detectives were allowed inside where they said noticed a suspected meth lab in plain view sitting on the kitchen table.
Law enforcement was granted consent to search the residence.
Detectives found chemicals and equipment used to manufacture meth and loaded syringes with suspected meth inside.
Officers also recovered several items of stolen property in the residence.
Amanda Farris, 29, of Scottsville was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine first offense.
Matthew Olson, 19, of Scottsville was arrested and charged with methamphetamine first offense and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified).
Laure A. Whitney, 41, of Scottsville was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine first offense, receiving stolen property under $10,000, third-degree criminal possession of a forced instrument, first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense (drug unspecified) and active warrants.
Farris and Olson were lodged in the Allen County Jail and Whitney was cited to court and release due to covid restrictions.
