Metcalfe high schoolers participate in Future of Schools Summit at Columbia University
EDMONTON, Ky. – Three Metcalfe County students participated in a prestigious summit in New York City.
According to a release, Aubrey Glass (senior), Abby Shirley (junior) and Leah Kerr (sophomore) were selected to attend the New York City Carnegie Future of Schools Summit at Columbia University over spring break.
Kerr, Glass, and Shirley were selected by the Columbia Center for Public Research and Leadership (CPRL) to serve as
Kentucky delegates.
Students from Kentucky and New York who have shown commitment to education in civic dialogue and democratic learning participated as co-learners and ambassadors.
Kerr, Glass, and Shirley shared their perspectives on schooling with other students at the summit.
The three Hornets have been part of an ongoing study about the future of schools at the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative (GRREC) in Bowling Green.
