2 arrested in Bowling Green on child abuse charges after welfare check

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two people are facing child abuse charges in Bowling Green following a welfare check.

According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Bowling Green home on Monday morning to conduct a welfare check.

Authorities say upon arrival, 35-year-old Jesse Lewis of Bowling Green allowed law enforcement into the residence.

Deputies say they observed unsanitary living conditions with trash and bugs, including 30 tarantulas. In addition, authorities say they seized drugs and paraphernalia.

Authorities say both Lewis and another resident, 32-year-old Ruth Fritsche of Bowling Green, confirmed the living conditions were not suitable.

Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail, where records state they have since been released.

Lewis and Fritsche are charged with third-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
