Metcalfe County man accused of DUI after truck gets stuck in high water

EDMONTON, Ky.- A Metcalfe County man was charged with multiple crimes after authorities said he drove his pick-up truck through high water and got stuck.

It happened Thursday on KY-640.

According to the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office, Timothy Strode, 39, purposely ignored high water warning signs, drove around barricades and entered the high water.

Authorities said Strode was driving under the influence.

Strode was charged with DUI, reckless driving, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

He was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.

The Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that those who disregard high water barricades will be subject to prosecution and/or arrest.
