Man sentenced in 2022 mass shooting threat case

OWENSBORO, Ky. – A Morganfield man has been sentenced after officials say he threatened to commit a mass shooting.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Western District of Kentucky, court documents and statements and court say that on May 20, 2022, Dennis R. Rigdon, 54, of Morganfield sent a text message threatening a mass shooting.
Rigdon is sentenced to 15 months in federal prison, along with a three-year term of supervised release.
The FBI Owensboro Satellite Office and Union County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
