Man charged with trafficking fentanyl, cocaine in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ky. – One man is behind bars after allegedly trafficking drugs in Franklin.

According to a uniform citation, the Franklin Police Department responded Saturday morning to a business at 5629 Nashville Road for a report of a patron dropping suspected illegal drugs.

Authorities say 33-year-old Zachary Turner had dropped a knotted plastic bag containing cocaine.

According to authorities, Turner admitted to dropping the bag. Following his arrest, authorities say they located a bag containing fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine.

Authorities say Turner admitted to purchasing the drugs in Nashville, Tennessee and to selling illegal drugs.

Turner remains at the Simpson County Jail.

He faces charges of importing carfentanil, fentanyl or fentanyl derivatives, trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine, and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, greater than or equal to 4 grams of cocaine.
