Man charged with trafficking drugs near school

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is behind bars, charged with trafficking over 2lbs of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.

According to the arrest citation, Wednesday night, Bowling Green police responded to Dennis Way where the girlfriend of Carlos Norris, 25, told officers he had threatened to kill her.

Officers say they noticed approximately 2.34lbs of suspected marijuana in plain view inside a Lexus in the driveway and following a search, located over $5,000 cash on Norris and a handgun and digital scales inside the residence.

The house is just under 600ft away from the Bowling Green Learning Center.

The citation states Norris never denied ownership of the drugs but stated they weren’t in his possession, just inside the vehicle registered to his girlfriend.

Norris is lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail on a handful of drug charges.
