Man charged with DUI in Portland, Tennessee

PORTLAND, Tenn. – One man is charged with driving while under the influence in Portland, Tennessee.
According to the Portland Police Department, officers responded July 16 to a report of an individual that appeared to be unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle parked at a local gas station.
Upon arrival, officers say they located the driver, who took multiple attempts to be woken up.
Once he was conscious, police say they identified him as Alberto Vidal Aguilar.
During the investigation, officers say the odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from Aguilar. Authorities say they observed an empty alcoholic beverage container in the vehicle as well.
After learning Aguilar was not experiencing a medical emergency, police say they investigated the incident for driving while under the influence.
Aguilar was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense, and driving without a license.
He was transported to the Sumner County Jail.
