Man arrested on DUI, drug trafficking charges

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Following a safety check point Sunday evening, Kentucky State Police arrested a man on charges of driving under the influence and trafficking in methamphetamine.

The citation states, Larry Davis, 49, was traveling at a high rate of speed and nearly struck a trooper in the roadway before slamming on the brakes.

When instructed to pull off the roadway and behind the marked patrol car, troopers say he pulled in front of it and nearly struck another trooper.

Police say Davis failed all physical tests and appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant.

Once detained, the citation states a search of the vehicle revealed several individual baggies of suspected methamphetamine and cash.

He was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail alongside his passenger, who police say was so intoxicated and belligerent that he couldn’t assist troopers in getting him a ride home. The passenger was subsequently detained and later arrested.
