Man arrested for murder after allegedly shooting man in Clay County

BUNCOMB, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating a murder in Clay County.

According to KSP, troopers responded to a barn fire on KY 577 Thursday evening.

First responders told KSP that they located an unidentified male in the fire debris with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

On Sept. 18, an autopsy was performed and the victim was identified as 40-year-old Nathaniel D. Carter, of McKee.

During the investigation, KSP identified 28-year-old Dalton S. Bowling, of Manchester, as a suspect.

Bowling was arrested and charged with murder. He was lodged at the Clay County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
