Man accused of taking police on a three-county high speed chase

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A high speed chase spanning three counties has landed one man in jail.
Just after 8 a.m. Tuesday, Kentucky State Police spotted a 2020 Blue Kia Optima traveling 114 mph on Interstate 165 in Ohio County, according to a release from Kentucky State Police.
When police tried to pull the car over, troopers said the driver sped up and fled the area.
The car continued through Butler County and into Warren County where Commercial Vehicle Enforcement was able to deploy tire deflation devices ending the pursuit near the 8 Mile Marker.
Damian Howard, 26, of St. Louis, then got out of the vehicle and attempted to run away before being taken into custody, according to the release,
A passenger in the vehicle Shadale Lewis, 26, of St. Louis was cited and released on a marijuana possession charge.
There was also a juvenile in the car.
Howard is lodged in the Ohio Detention Center and charged with speeding, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing and evading, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, defacing a firearm, improper lane change and failure to signal.
