Man accused of stealing vehicle in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is behind bars after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Bowling Green.

According to a uniform citation, Bowling Green police responded Tuesday afternoon to 2750 Russellville Road regarding a reported vehicle theft.

Authorities say the victim reported he had left his vehicle running while he quickly ran into a store.

Police say the victim stated that when he returned, his vehicle was missing.

According to authorities, surveillance video shows a male entering the vehicle and driving it down Russellville Road.

Authorities say a store employee recognized the male, who was identified as 39-year-old Abdul Satari.

Police say they located Satari in the vehicle off of Morgantown Road near the Interstate 165 ramp.

Satari was detained. Authorities say Satari is now banned from the Shell gas station at 2750 Russellville Road.

Satari was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail. He faces charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto between $10,000 and $1,000,000 and third-degree criminal trespassing.
