Man accused of sexually abusing child for several years

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is accused of sexually abusing a child after a woman reported to police the man molested her for several years.

The woman told police she was sexually abused weekly from the time she was 11 years old until she turned 18 and was able to leave. She has obtained a protection order to keep the man away from her.

Myo Lay, 67, was charged Friday with first-degree sexual abuse. Police interviewed him using a Burmese interpreter via a language line.

The woman told police he watched pornography on his telephone and would perform sex acts on himself in front of her. Lay denied everything at first until admitting to police he grabbed the woman’s genitalia until she screamed and that made him happy, according to his arrest citation.

He estimated that he grabbed the woman’s genitalia three times and said it gave him pleasure to see her in pain, according to his arrest citation.

The investigation is ongoing.
