Logan County mother charged after teenager is exposed to methamphetamine

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky.- A mother from Logan County is behind bars after authorities said her son gave a friend her methamphetamine and ended up in the hospital.

Dana Johnson, 35, is charged with several crimes including first-degree wanton endangerment, and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

According to authorities with the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson’s son took his mother’s methamphetamine and gave it to a 13-year-old friend on a school bus. Authorities said the friend snorted it on the bus and ended up in the hospital.

Detectives conducted an investigation at Johnson’s home in the 900 block of Sportsman Club Road in Russellville, where they said they found a black lockbox containing approximately seven grams of suspected methamphetamine, two glass smoking devices, a digital scale and butane lighters.

Johnson was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.
