Logan County escaped inmate found dead
OLMSTEAD, Ky. – Kentucky State Police have identified the remains of a man found Sunday in a field on Watermelon Road.
Sunday morning the Logan County Sheriff’s Office asked for state police to respond to a death investigation.
State police have identified the remains as Jason Stratton, 48, of Elkton, Ky.
According to Kentucky State Trooper Daniel Priddy, Stratton was reported as an escapee from the Logan County Jail on Oct. 22, after not returning from a granted furlough.
The investigation remains ongoing and cause of death is pending a final autopsy report.
Foul play is not suspected.
