Logan County added to growing list of burn bans

Burn Ban

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – Logan County has joined a growing list of burn bans amid increased wildfire risks and dry conditions.

According to an executive order on Thursday, Sept. 3, all open burning is banned countywide, effective immediately.

The order includes the lighting of fireworks and the burning of any material outdoors.

According to the document, the ban will be lifted by order after enough rainfall has resolved hazardous conditions.

Currently, additional burn bans remain active in the following local counties:

“Kentucky Revised Statutes provides for penalities for violations of not less than $50 nor more than $500” for violations of the ban, according to the order.

We will provide an update if further bans are ordered or as existing ones are lifted.
