Local residents say they’re anxiously waiting election results

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The country is awaiting election results after yesterday’s Election Day voting.

Some results are expected to come as early as tonight, or could take several more days.

People in downtown Bowling Green Wednesday expessed that they are anxious.

“I feel kinda anxious about it,” said resident Walter Norris.

“I’m anxious probably. I know it’s pretty tight this year, a lot of ups and downs so I’m excited to see what happens,” said resident Savanna Hillard.

“I don’t like it. I don’t like waiting in line for lottery tickets, so I definitely don’t like waiting to find out who’s gonna be our president,” said resident Marcus Armstrong.

“I just think that it takes too long,” said resident Thomas Davidson.

But for the overall election and voting process, the general consensus was that it went smoothly.

“I voted early, I tried to get out there and beat the crowd. Which I’ve heard from several people who voted on election day that maybe there wasn’t a crowd at all, maybe because of early voting,” said resident Tyler Sweat.

“In person voting, I actually liked it a lot better this year. Just because there weren’t 900 precincts. We actually used our resources that we had in the area. We have big gyms, we have big facilities. My personal opinion is that it should be like that every year,” said resident James Thibault.

And now it’s just a waiting game as the results come in.

“I don’t know how to feel about it. Polls say one thing, election night says another so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see,” said Sweat.
