Local non-profit prepares food supplies for Ukraine

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Local non-profit House on the Hill packed up deliveries for families in Ukraine tonight.

Nine thousand pounds of food were packed and ready for shipment to help families in need with the help of the local organization alongside World Vision International and a church from Chicago.

When not serving a global need, House on the Hill delivers meals to families in need in South Central Kentucky.

“Well, one of our core values at House on the Hill is food first, getting food to people who need it the most,” said Joel Hawkins, board chair of House on the Hill. “And as a core value, seeing what’s going on in Ukraine and the displacement and separation of families and the devastation there, we thought this was the least we could do.”

In addition, Bristow Elementary School students wrote notes and did drawings to put with the food.

The eight pallets of food packed up tonight will equal over eleven thousand meals.
