Law enforcement gives gift cards to people in the community

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Over the weekend, local law enforcement officers delivered Meijer gift cards to people in the community.

Most years, the Bowling Green Fraternal Order of Police delivers Holiday Family Food Boxes to people, but this year, they decided gift cards were more COVID friendly.

Saturday morning, 70 families in Bowling Green received $70 each in order to purchase food for Christmas.

The Bowling Green Police, Smiths Grove Police, Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the FOP worked together to distribute the gift cards.

According to Robert Perry, the president of the local FOP, the goal of the gifts is to help the community and law enforcement build relationships together.

The FOP hopes to return to delivering Holiday Family Food Boxes again next year.
