Infrastructure in focus as Trump meets democrats

(NBC News) President Trump will meet with Democratic leaders Tuesday to discuss a new infrastructure plan aimed at fixing America’s aging roads and bridges.

It will mark the first time the president has met with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi since the government shutdown in December.

Democrats have laid out their priorities in this letter to the President Trump. They include paying for highway projects, clean energy and jobs for women, veterans and minorities.

The White House says the president’s open to ideas.

“We don’t have a blueprint. We want to hear from the Congress,” says National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow.
