BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) — If anyone was wondering who was Trevor Simsby and what was he doing in a World Golf Championship, it was a fair question. Simsby is a 28-year-old Californian who played only one Asian Tour event in 2020. That was his victory in the Malaysian Open, right before the coronavirus pandemic halted golf. Because he was No. 2 on the money list, he qualified for the Workday Championship. But the pandemic kept him from playing on any tour for a year before he showed up at Concession. He tied for 37th and now goes back to waiting for the Asian Tour to resume.
