Sorenstam returns with a lot more stress and fewer birdies

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Annika Sorenstam doesn’t remember golf being this difficult. The 50-year-old Swede returned to the LPGA Tour for the first time in more than 12 years. Sorenstam is not coming out of retirement. She calls the Gainbridge LPGA an appearance because it’s on her home course at Lake Nona. Sorenstam opened with a 75 and was 10 shots behind. This week is not about adding to her 72 victories. It’s about playing again for one week. She made only one birdie. She had a triple bogey. The rust was evident. But she never smiled so much during a 75.
