Arsenal’s chances of qualifying for European competitions are looking more unlikely after gifting Burnley an equalizer in a 1-1 draw in the Premier League. The team’s bold approach of playing the ball out from the back since the arrival of Mikel Arteta in December 2019 has drawn plenty of praise and led to a number of wonderfully constructed goals. But it cost Arsenal dearly against Burnley as Granit Xhaka’s pass across his own penalty area hit the hip of Chris Wood and careered into the net. Arsenal remained stuck in 10th place. Leicester appears to be heading for the Champions League though after rising to second place by coming from behind to beat Brighton 2-1.
