Humane Society partners with national non-profit

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society is partnering with a national non-profit to rebuild and restore part of their facility.

Greater Good Charities works with animal shelters to make improvements on different parts of the property.

For the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society, the charity will be working to restore and improve the dog runs outside of the adoption center and will build more runs outside of the intake building as well as build a cat-io.

The cat-io will allow cats and kittens to enjoy some fresh air and outdoor areas safely, a feature the shelter currently does not have.

“When you look out into our runs and you see dogs playing out there instead of being in their cages or volunteers out there or adopters out there bringing there dogs to meet a dog, it’s a great space for that. And then the cats. We’ve never had the ability to put our cats outdoors in a safe manner,” director Lorri Hare said.

Greater Good Charities and the shelter are asking locals to volunteer their time from July 5 through July 13 to build the new features. To learn more click here.

In the week following, the grant from the charity will also cover a top notch training for the employees on reading dog behavior and introducing dogs in the safest way possible.
