Hope Harbor to provide bystander intervention training

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green non-profit is providing free violence intervention training to the community.
According to a release, Hope Harbor is hosting a free Green Dot Bystander Intervention Training on Thursday, June 11 from 9 am to 3 pm at the Lisa Rice Library in Bowling Green.
The interactive training will teach individuals practical and safe strategies to identify the warning signs of power-based personal violence and the best ways to intervene before it happens.
According to the release, Green Dot is an evidence-based prevention program developed through research in Kentucky and has been shown to reduce rates of power-based personal violence by 21%.
The program teaches interview strategies for potential sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, child abuse, stalking, harassment and bullying.
