Historic chapel at Basil Griffin Park needs new roof
A new roof must be installed at an old Warren County owned chapel, the site of various events and weddings.
The chapel roof of was significantly damaged during a recent weather event.
Friday, Warren County Parks and Recreation Director, Chris Kummer, told Warren County Fiscal Court the chapel’s steeple recently fell, creating damage to the roof.
Some work has already been completed on the roof, and Friday, magistrates approved another $1,700 for the repairs.
Kummer says 20-25 events are held at the chapel every year.
"It’s a really quaint, intimate spot that means a lot to the family who donated it," said Kummer. "The history of the chapel and the reason it was built is actually inside of it."
No events at the chapel have had to be rescheduled.
