Heritage Row participates in nonprofit photo contest
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green business is using photography to give back to a good cause.
Heritage Row Photography is participating in the Simply Me Photo Contest.
Simply Me is a charity-based event featuring several photo categories for children, pet owners, couples and high school seniors.
Participants will have the opportunity to compete for a chance to be featured in an international exhibit in Illinois this fall.
Organizers say all proceeds received by Heritage Row Photography through the event will benefit the Center for Courageous Kids.
“And so we want to make sure that people in Bowling Green are getting this now. And that’s one of the ways that we can do it,” said Heritage Row owner Lisa Kahler.
She said, “The Center for Courageous Kids over in Scottsville is a wonderful camp for children between the ages of seven and 17.”
Kahler also spoke on why she thinks competitions like this are beneficial to the children who participate.
Kahler said, “I really learned over the last 15 years in business that it’s so important to celebrate our children. It’s scientifically proven that when children see themselves on the walls of their home, that it really helps with their self-esteem and their growth.”
“We want to make sure that people in Bowling Green are getting this now. And that’s one of the ways that we can do it,” she added.
The nonprofit provides camping experiences and support programs for children with serious illnesses and their families.
