Have fun and use caution on Halloween

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Local law enforcement is reminding the community to celebrate Halloween responsibly.

Officials recommend putting reflective patches or lights on children’s costumes as well as avoiding trick or treating after sundown.

“Be very vigilant and cautious about any oncoming vehicles,” said Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower.

Motorists are also reminded to keep a vigilant eye out for little ghouls and goblins that may be near the roadways in search of candy.

As always, law enforcement will also be patrolling for impaired drivers and are stressing the importance of sober driving.

“It’s not worth your safety and it’s not worth risking the life of somebody else,” said Officer Tim Gray, WKU Campus Police.

Parents are also encouraged to check children’s candy and throw out any opened pieces.
