Halloween fun offered at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park

CAVE CITY, Ky.- Halloween is looking a little bit different this year but there’s one place nearby that’s going all out.

It’s Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts in Cave City. Halloween there is more than just one day of fun.

“It’s so much fun here, we actually have six weekends of Halloween,” said assistant general manager Candace Forsythe.

Forsythe is dressed up as one of the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus. She said they dress up on the weekends to get everyone in the spirit for their trip.

“[People say] ‘it’s so nice to know I’m going to Jellystone this weekend’,” said Forsythe.

There’s many activities going on including costume and scarecrow contests, pumpkin carving and COVID-19 friendly trick or treating, which they changed to make sure everyone was safe.

“We felt it was extremely important because a lot of people need some sort of normalcy. Yes, we’ve changed some things up, yes we stress social distancing. But they still are doing all the same things, just a little different,” said Forsythe.

And she said people come back year after year just for Halloween and reserve the same cabin or spot for their camper. They decorate the lawn of where they are staying for the week.

“We go around and look at everybody else’s place at night and stuff,” said camp visitor Penny Ocasio.

It’s a fun way to get outside and celebrate Halloween while staying socially distanced.
