BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Green River Regional Education Cooperative (GRREC) hosted an expo Friday for participants in its Elevate Academy program, giving educators an opportunity to learn, collaborate and grow professionally.

Elevate Academy is a Kentucky Department of Education-approved Rank Change program that is open to educators across the commonwealth. The program allows teachers to pursue professional growth while earning rank change credentials.

Friday’s expo featured a variety of professional learning sessions, networking opportunities and more than $6,000 in prize giveaways for attendees.

The event also included a keynote presentation from educator, podcaster and comedian Devin Siebold, who spoke about the importance of incorporating laughter and positivity into the classroom.

Dr. Bobbie Noall, assistant director of Elevate Academy, said one of the program’s primary goals is to encourage educators to become lifelong learners.

“One of our goals for pretty much any educator and many education systems is to create lifelong learners,” Noall said. “Educators are always trying to better themselves and improve, and that’s exactly what they want for their students—to be better every day than they were the day before.”

Organizers said Elevate Academy is designed to give educators flexibility in their professional development, allowing participants to choose learning opportunities that best fit their individual goals and classroom needs.

Officials say the program is intended to help teachers grow both professionally and personally while equipping them with new ideas and strategies they can bring back to their schools.
