SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The grandfather of an Allen County child is charged in connection with a recently reclassified investigation into her death.

On Thursday, nearly six years after 7-year-old Revelin Meador’s death, the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force confirmed Bobby Meador was arrested.

He now faces a manslaughter charge.

The agency stated, “The child was medically fragile, required around-the-clock care, and was unable to care for herself. The Medical Examiner determined that she died from acute fentanyl intoxication. Investigators confirmed the child was physically incapable of independently obtaining or administering fentanyl.”

Earlier this week, the agency reopened the case as a homicide due to new information and evidence. Authorities say the child was found dead on Celsor Road in Allen County on August 1, 2020.

Due to this reopened case, authorities say separate alleged crimes were uncovered, leading to the arrest of Revelin Meador’s father, 31-year-old Farren Meador.

He has been charged with first-degree rape and incest tied to multiple victims, authorities say. The agency says these charges are not tied to his daughter’s case.

All of the above investigations remain ongoing.

The Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force was publicly announced as a newly formed agency this past August. Since then, the agency has expressed continued efforts to tackle serious crime, including older local cases.

The agency further stated the following:

“This case highlights the importance of thorough investigations and accountability. Through the leadership of Allen County Sheriff Brandon Ford and Scottsville Police Chief Danny Wilson, the Task Force was established to bring experience, resources and renewed attention to serious criminal investigations, including cases that may have previously gone unresolved.”

“We sincerely thank the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force for their assistance in today’s arrest. Special recognition goes to Allen County Coroner Darren Davis for his persistence and dedication to seeking answers for this child. Meadors is currently lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail and awaiting transport back to Allen County.

“No victim should be forgotten, and the pursuit of justice should never be determined by how much time has passed.”
