Gov. Andy Beshear breaks ground on Trader Joe’s distribution center in Simpson County
SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. – More than 800 new jobs are officially on the way to Simpson County.
Gov. Andy Beshear, along with several local Simpson County leaders, broke ground on the new Trader Joe’s distribution and assembly center in the Stone-Givens Industrial Park.
Trader Joe’s is a leading retail distributor and supplier of food and beverages with more than 500 grocery stores across the nation.
“It shows that Kentucky is in an amazing place in the logistics sector to reach so much of the rest of the country,” Beshear said. “But at $270 million in investment, 800 plus new jobs, this is one of the biggest announcements that any state has. And it’s really exciting that we’re breaking ground today.”
The Trader Joe’s facility is the largest economic development project in Simpson County to date.
Today we broke ground on @TJoesOfficial‘s $260 million state-of-the-art distribution and logistics center, which will create 91 full-time jobs for Kentuckians. This was a great day for our entire commonwealth as we continue to celebrate our ongoing success. pic.twitter.com/dRX53rHpgB
