Glasgow man accused of killing dog with pocket knife

GLASGOW, Ky.- A Glasgow man was arrested on an animal cruelty charge after police said he killed his dog with a pocket knife.

According to a news release, Glasgow police officers responded Saturday to a complaint on E. College Street.

Police said Alan Cumberland, 52, stabbed and killed the dog. Officers seized two other dogs on the property that were not injured.

Cumberland was charged with torture of a dog with serious physical injury or death, menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Cumberland is being held in the Barren County Detention Center.
