FRANKFORT, Ky. – The former treasurer of the Wolfe County Animal Shelter is now formally charged in the alleged theft of over $100,000.

According to Team Kentucky, a Wolfe County grand jury indicted 74-year-old Pam Pilgrim on one count of theft by unlawful taking, more than $10,000 but less than $1,000,000.

Officials say the indictment states the theft occurred from January 2019 through July 2024.

Pilgrim is charged with the theft of $112,144.58 that allegedly took place during her time as the shelter’s treasurer.

She was arraigned Wednesday, with a judge ordering her to not act as treasurer on any boards.

Pilgrim returns to court Feb. 18.
