Drug task force arrests 2 on manslaughter charge in fentanyl overdose

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Two people are facing several charges after an investigation into what police say was a fatal overdose.

The South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force and the Russellville Police Department responded for an unresponsive female at the 100 block of Glendale Lane on April 17.

When officials arrived, they say Lindsey Tanner was lying on the bedroom floor.

Tanner was pronounced dead at the scene by the Logan County Coroner’s Office.

After an investigation into the case by the drug task force, authorities arrested Logan Lashley, 21, of Russellville and Lasheeka Shelton, 44, of Russellville. Both face a charge of second-degree manslaughter.

Lashley is also facing a charge of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second or greater offense.

Shelton additionally faces charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (heroin), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, drug paraphernalia – buy possess and tampering with physical evidence.

Both remain in the Logan County Detention Center.
