Community, law enforcement agencies from across the country come together to remember Trooper Hayden Phillips
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Saturday, a visitation for Kentucky State Police Trooper Hayden Phillips, who was killed in the line of duty on Sept. 28 in Warren County, was held at Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
Community members and law enforcement agencies from South Central Kentucky and across the country came together to remember Trooper Phillips and show support for his wife and three sons.
Kentucky State Police Sgt. Matt Sudduth says Trooper Phillips was more than just a trooper. He was a friend, a longtime first responder and a dedicated family man.
“He was an incredibly loving husband to Jordan. He was an incredibly loving father to Kason, Konnor and Knox. You know, I’ve heard some stories throughout this week and gotten to know a little bit more about who Trooper Phillips was, who Hayden was. And, you know, we will always remember him, remember him and his service and his sacrifice,” said Sudduth.
Sudduth says Trooper Phillips leaves behind a young family that will need continued support in the days, weeks and years ahead as they grieve his loss.
“We would certainly appreciate and encourage them to donate. Our preference is that they make that donation through the Kentucky State Police Foundation,” said Sudduth.
Individuals can make donations to Trooper Phillips’ family at kspfoundation.org.
Sudduth goes on to say Trooper Phillips’ family will receive KSP’s full support during this time and that the agency will continue to honor his legacy for generations to come.
“The Kentucky State Police will never forget the sacrifice he made in the name of service above self. The ultimate sacrifice that he made. Every trooper, current trooper, every future trooper, every one of us, everyone that is to come will know in the name of Trooper Hayden Phillips, Unit 369,” said Sudduth.
The funeral for Trooper Hayden Phillips will be held Sunday at noon on the campus of Western Kentucky University at E.A. Diddle Arena.
