Christmas car parade for senior residents features police, Santa Claus

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Arcadia Senior Living is brought a bunch of holiday cheer to their residents this year and it’s one for the books.

Today they had a Christmas Eve parade with cars dressed to the nines to get residents in the holiday spirit.

Arcadia invited families, businesses, staff and other organizations to participate by decorating their car and driving in the parade.

They had over 50 cars in the parade, including Santa Claus and the Bowling Green Police Department.

With the COVID-19 restrictions, it’s harder for family members to see their loved ones safely. This is a way they could make the holidays a little less lonely.

“I wish everyone would have seen the reactions on the residents’ faces this morning as their family members drove by it was absolutely priceless. With the holiday season being a tad different this year I think it went a long way for the residents and the family members.

“It was just so awesome to see us come together as an Arcadia family and put this on and I definitely think it made this Christmas season extra special for them,” said Community Relations Director Paige Hughes.

Arcadia is also expected to be receiving the COVID-19 vaccine sometime in early January.
